Air quality & weekend Medal Meets

Hey hey Stingrays!

We received the following regarding the Medal Meets this weekend and the air quality issues we're experiencing in our area right now.

The GASL board has fielded questions regarding the Silver and Gold Championship meets being held this weekend during days with poor air quality. At this time, the league has NO plans to cancel the meets on Saturday or Sunday based on the improved air quality forecasted for tomorrow.

However, given the air quality alert, if swimmers and/or families are not comfortable being outside for extended periods of time, the host teams will continue to accept scratches for the Silver Meet until 3pm today and the Gold Meet until 3pm on Saturday 7/18/26.

Sensitive groups (including those with asthma, heart/lung disease, and older adults) should consider staying indoors. Please use your best judgement when bringing extra spectators, including very young children, elderly relatives, or any individuals sensitive to the poor air quality conditions to spectate at the meets.

If you don't think you'll be attending PLEASE let Coach John know ASAP!  Psych sheets can be adjusted and heats combined to make the meet move faster so we can get back into the air conditioning at home. Silver Meet deadline for notification is today at 3pm and Gold Meet is Saturday at 3pm. Thank you!!!!
