Stingrays Discipline Procedure
Discipline Procedures
- The coaching staff will warn a swimmer presenting a discipline problem. The swimmer will be made aware of the consequences of repeated offenses. The coach will give one verbal warning, then, on the second offense will issue a “time out”.
- If the discipline problem persists, the parents will be contacted. It is then the parent’s responsibility to ensure that their swimmer presents no more discipline problems.
- If misbehavior persists, the coach will suspend the swimmer from practice and/or swim meet. The swimmer must write a note signed by his/her parent(s) to participate in the next practice/meet.
- For any further offenses, the coach may propose to the Core Committee members that the swimmer be removed from the team. Removal from the team for disciplinary reasons are not eligible for a refund of registration fees.
- Certain infractions are considered to be of such serious nature that a swimmer may be expelled from the team immediately with no refund. Such an infraction includes, but is not limited to: profanity directed at the coaching staff; any threat or perceived threat of violence against either the coaching staff or other swimmers.
Notes to Parents
- Be sure your swimmer(s) understand the Rules of Conduct.
- Please understand: Rules are made for the swimmer’s safety
- For safety reasons: Please do not disrupt the coach during practice. Parents cannot be on the deck close to the pool during practice.
- IMPORTANT! – Your swimmer(s) are expected to stay for the full practice unless you pick them up early. If someone else is to pick them up, a note should be sent to the practice to make this request. We will strive to ensure their safety and well being while on the pool premises, however, we can not restrain them or keep them from leaving. Better yet, why not stay for practice and see what goes on. If you routinely car pool/share picking up with another family/families, let us know.
- While your child is at practice pay attention to the weather. If it starts looking bad, it would be a good idea to come to the pool in case practice is curtailed!
